For the last 50 years, Stralsund-based company Weiße Flotte has been operating day- trip and ferry services in the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern together with its subsidiary Reederei Hiddensee.

Modern passenger vessels of the "Boddenkreuzer" type, a cargo ferry as well as fast water taxis make up the fleet that connects the island of Hiddensee with the island of Rügen all year round. During the summer months, the timetable is supplemented with sailings from Stralsund, Wiek and Zingst. New or modernised passenger/car vessels are deployed for ferry services in Warnemünde (Hohe Düne), Wittower Fähre (Rügen) and Stahlbrode - Glewitz (Rügen). A large programme of harbour trips rounds off the products on offer.

Together, Weiße Flotte and Reederei Hiddensee carry 3.3 million passengers and 1.2 million vehicles
